Presentation Material (Keynote Speaker)

In order to survive in global competition, regions are demanded to be able to produce output more efficiently.  Efficiency triggers the emergence of creative thinking, which ultimately generates creative ideas. Creative economy is identical to the creative industry that is considered to contribute significantly to economic growth of regional economy. Its existence is an inseparable part to other sectors.  According to UNCTAD (2008), the creative industry contributed significantly to the country’s economy, and also enhanced the increase of export value, the absorption of labor in large quantities, and one contributor to Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

One of the reasons for the development of creative industry potential is to affect the social life, business climate, economic improvement, and also the image of a region.  The driving force is because something new is created, whether it is a product or a service. It always encourages people to come, see, know, feel, or even want to pick it if something can be traded.  Similarly, the creative industry, whether something is a new invention. Re-innovation towards something will encourage people to know the existence of something new.  Thus, the existence of creative industries becomes the object and the attraction of tourism that can encourage more people to visit or enjoy the industries.

To provide a forum for researchers, practitioners, students, and organization representatives to share their knowledge and expertise, the Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Mercu Buana will host the Fourth International Conference on Management, Economics and Business activities held on 26-27 June 2019.
